Draft Design Build is a fully integrated design-build firm with a passion for good design, and fine craft.  We specialize in building sustainable homes that are beautiful and like any thoughtfully designed and well made product, our homes age, patina, and gain character with the passage of time. 

We believe that the most sustainable building practices are often the most beautiful and are most effectively achieved by using as many natural and locally sourced products as we can.  While we are firm believers in the importance of creating environmentally friendly homes, we also understand that the "green building" movement has led to the introduction of many gimmicky "green" products that are not really good for our environment or the consumer.  With this understanding, we strive to focus on more common sense sustainable building practices, like creating homes that are well insulated and well ventilated, that are heated and cooled naturally, homes that have a smaller footprint but feel spacious, and homes that utilize as many natural and locally sourced materials as possible. 

Josh Crocker is the founder, and lead designer at DDB.  He got an early start in design/build when he went to work for a custom homebuilder back in 1997.  He quickly fell in love with the design process and was inspired to pursue an education in architecture.  Knowing from the beginning that he still wanted to work with his hands, Josh prepared himself to run a design/build company by obtaining a dual degree in construction management and architecture in 2005 and a masters of architecture in 2007, both from the University of Washington.  Laura Crocker is our in house interior designer who graduated from The Seattle Art institute.  

Josh and the entire team at Draft Design Build bring quality materials and fine craft to each project we are apart of. We want to give you a product that will function well, be beautiful, and last for generations to come.
